This is philosophy extends not only to our clients and colleagues, but also to our employees.
We aim to create an employee-friendly culture that fosters professional growth, encourages a sense of community and recognizes that work is just one part of life.
A Positive Work Environment:
TeraTech employees are one of our most important assets. TeraTech is committed to providing a work environment where employees can feel appreciated, valued, provide high quality work – and also have a little fun. We work hard to create an atmosphere where employees can express their creative side, understanding that the best ideas often germinate in a positive and supportive environment.
We strongly believe that good management is approachable and always listens. By fostering a truly open, multi-directinal flow of information through out the company our people will grow faster and more broadly, allowing them to contribute at higher levels to TeraTech’s overall success as well as their own.
Support for the Community:
It's always been an important part of our company operations to actively support the developer community. In addition to founding and running the largest international ColdFusion conference, CFUnited, we also run the open source Fusebox methodology for writing better programs. This methodology is used by over 10,000 developers world-wide.
In addition, TeraTech is a frequent contributor to various developer journals such as Fusion Authority, the ColdFusion Developer Journal and the CPCUG monitor. We are a widely recognized as a thought leader in the field of ColdFusion development.
Commitment to the community starts at the top at TeraTech. Michael Smith, our President, sets an excellent example for TeraTech employees by volunteering his time and energy to such causes as ByteBack, a non-profit organization that provides computer training for unemployed and under-employed inner city residents. Michael speaks often at industry groups, has taught numerous programming and methodology classes, and works tirelessly to champiom developer causes and industry progress. He also started the Maryland ColdFusion User Group .
Exceeding client expectations:
We are committed to meeting and exceeding our client’s expectations at every level of engagement. To accomplish this goal, TeraTech seeks to cultivate relationships with clients based on open communication, integrity and trust. We applaud our clients' efforts to improve their internal and external communication and operations and wherever possible, we assist them towards achieving their goals. At TeraTech, we understand that regardless of the technologies and methodologies used to develop your software, your bottom line is this: does the software solve your business problem?
"When I founded TeraTech in 1989, I had 3 simple principals in mind: - Open Communication, Integrity and Trust. I'm proud to say that while we have grown substantially over the years, we have not outgrown our mission - and never will."
